At Sunderland Software City, we are passionate about making a difference to tech communities across the region by creating digital tech opportunities.
We know there is a need for more support to help digital and tech organisations flourish and to raise more awareness of the opportunities to start a tech business.
That’s why we’re setting up our brand-new Enterprise team to support the start-up and growth of digital tech businesses through a range of community outreach activities, business support services and a physical and virtual community hub.
We are looking for 7 new individuals who are passionate about technology and inclusive entrepreneurship to join our Enterprise team! Vacancies are now live and can be found below.

The roles
Head of Enterprise
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
The Head of Enterprise will be leading the Enterprise team to support the start-up and growth of digital tech business within the region. The role includes setting and monitoring success metrics and objectives, and ensuring the team work efficiently toward delivering targets.
For this role, we are looking for an ambitious, experienced business leader who understands startups and growth, and is passionate about making a difference to the digital ecosystem.

Start Up and Growth Manager
Salary Range: £33,000 - £40,000
A client-facing role, the Start Up and Growth Manager will help both individuals and small teams refine their digital tech business ideas. The successful individual will constructively and positively challenge ideas, to help clients identify and address areas of improvement within their business projects.
For this role, we are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has experience in tech business growth and who is especially knowledgeable in business finance, and preparing and securing external investment.

Business Support Manager
Salary Range: £33,000 – £40,000
A client-facing role, the Business Support Manager will support digital tech SMEs by helping them to plan and achieve employment growth. The individual will enjoy building relations with tech communities, whilst delivering or facilitating a range of business support services.
The Business Support Manager is at the forefront of our service delivery, which means listening is a key part of the role. The role is responsible for identifying trends and changing needs within the tech sector, and ensuring our support services remain responsive.
For this role, we are looking for someone who is inquisitive, enjoys networking, and who has an understanding of how tech businesses work and what recruitment challenges they may face.

Community Hub Manager
Salary range: £25,000 - £32,000
The Community Hub Manager will be the friendly face of our physical and digital community hub in Sunderland.
This involves creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for members of the business community, looking after a hub where visitors can inspire each other and learn about setting up digital tech businesses.
For this role we are looking for someone who is a strong communicator, who enjoys connecting with people, and who is passionate about helping others succeed. This role will be located in Sunderland.

Engagement Specialist (x3)
Salary range: £25,000 - £32,000
The Engagement Specialists are responsible for going out into communities to connect with a wide range of individuals and help them explore the possibilities of starting a digital tech business. Through active listening, the specialists will learn about the barriers people face to starting a business. They will work with colleagues to design and deliver responsive and impactful enterprise activities.
For this role, we are looking for individuals who are passionate about seeing others succeed, with a drive to support a more inclusive and diverse tech eco-system for now and the future.
