TENDER OVERVIEW

You are invited to submit a proposal to develop a web application for Cambridge Finance. The successful organisation or consultant will work with the Cambridge Finance team to achieve the outcomes outlined in this brief. The primary objective is to create an MVP version of a web application designed for financial analysts and real estate professionals to enhance their valuation and investment analysis processes. The timescale for this work is from September 2024 to August 2025.

Background

Cambridge Finance is an online platform aimed at financial analysts and real estate professionals, offering advanced tools and techniques to improve their decision-making and financial performance. The platform will integrate various data sources and, eventually, utilise AI and machine learning to deliver trustworthy and transparent financial models.

Mission

To provide comprehensive, easy-to-understand data through interactive elements and dashboards, enhancing users' understanding of financial analysis and valuation.

The Brief

Create a web application with the following components:

  • Web App: Fully responsive HTML5 application for users to access and interact with the platform.
  • Administrator Web App: Interface for administrators to manage users and content.
  • API: Facilitates communication between the components and external services.
  • Database: Stores all data required for the platform.
  • File Storage: Handles secure file uploads and access.
  • Email API: For sending transactional emails.
  • Analytics Provider: Integrates with analytic providers such as Google Analytics or Plausible for usage statistics.
  • Payment Provider: Integrate with a payment platform for handling subscriptions and payments.

Continued Development

  • AI and Machine Learning: Later, once the web app is revenue generating, Cambridge Finance will fund incorporation of AI / ML for data ingestion, data analysis, automated valuation models, user personalisation, and risk assessments.

Target User Overview

Primary Users

Financial analysts and real estate professionals are the primary users of the Cambridge Finance platform. These individuals are typically involved in high-level performance tasks related to valuation and investment analysis.

Financial analysts require advanced tools and reliable data to make informed decisions that enhance their financial outcomes. These users often work in financial institutions, investment firms, or corporate finance departments. They require accurate and timely data to conduct thorough financial analyses and produce reports that inform investment strategies and decisions.

Similarly, real estate professionals (investors, brokers, appraisers, and consultants who focus on property valuation, market analysis, and investment strategy) need robust tools to assess property values, forecast market trends, and manage investment portfolios effectively.

Administrators

Cambridge Finance team members who will manage the overall system, including user accounts and content, fall under the administrator category. These individuals ensure the platform runs smoothly and meets the needs of its users.

Their needs entail intuitive administrative interfaces for managing users and content efficiently; comprehensive analytics to monitor platform performance and user engagement; and secure access controls to maintain data integrity and privacy.

Future Potential User Groups

In the future, Cambridge Finance may consider offering white-labelled versions of the platform to firms that wish to manage access for their teams. Managers in these firms will require tools to oversee user activity, customise content, and analyse performance.

Delivery Period

Once the contract is awarded, it is anticipated that work will commence in September 2024 and continue no later than August 2025.

The successful organisation or consultant will work closely with Cambridge Finance over this period. This will include regular meetings / updates and access to any platforms the chosen provider utilises which feature issue tracking and cycle planning.
