Careers in tech

Looking to develop her skills and find employment in the tech sector, Rebecca was excited to start her Tech Talent Ready experience with us.

Rebecca was looking to gain real experience that would help her find a permanent role in the tech sector. Looking to develop her skillset she enrolled in the Tech Talent Ready Skills in Digital Bootcamp with Mediaworks.

Tech Talent Ready offers a range of fully funded bootcamps that help participants like Rebecca, develop their skillset that match with the criteria that employers are looking for. After her short time with us, we wanted to know how her experience was.

What were your first thoughts about starting the bootcamp?

“I was excited to start the bootcamp. I felt the atmosphere was welcoming and supportive. The structure and the learning environment immediately made me feel like I was in the right place to grow my skills.”

How did you feel at the end of the experience?

“At the end of the bootcamp, I felt a strong sense of accomplishment and had gained a much deeper understanding of how to oversee a project from concept to completion. I left feeling more confident in my abilities.”

What skills do you feel you developed throughout the experience?

“Throughout the experience, I developed a foundational grasp of branding, market research, and project management. I also gained hands-on experience with no-code tools, which improved my confidence to move into digital projects later.”

What would you say to anyone who is not sure about attending the bootcamp?

“I would say that the bootcamp is an excellent opportunity to explore your interest in tech and build a solid foundation of skills. It’s a great way to test the waters and gain practical knowledge that you can continue developing independently.”

Since the bootcamp, how has life changed?

“Since completing the bootcamp, I've continued to refine my skills independently, managing local council Facebook pages and working on website development. Recently, I secured a role as a Digital Officer, where I oversee the website and social media presence for my organisation.”

What is next for you in the future?

“In the future, I plan to continue working in marketing and website development while gradually transitioning into the creative industries. I'm excited to see where this journey takes me as I build on my current experiences.”
